Classes for 7-14 Year Olds (OLD)

All classes for seven through fourteen year olds are held on Fridays and Saturdays at 236 East 75th Street location.

Our program exposes children to classical and contemporary Russian literature. Children study masterpieces of Russian literature, learn about the lives of the authors and historical context of their works. Children discuss and analyze texts, understand central characters, plot, and overarching themes. They are asked to think critically and respond to texts in oral, written, and dramatic form to deepen their comprehension. Children study Russian language and grammar to help them gain a stronger command of Russian written language.

We follow a standard curriculum of the Russian school system.

In the 2015 - 2016 academic year we offer the following groups:

7 year olds

Saturdays, 10 AM - 12 PM

8 year olds

Saturdays, 10 AM - 12 PM

9 year olds

Group 1: Saturdays, 10 AM - 12 PM

Group 2: Saturdays, 4 PM - 6 PM

10 year olds

Saturdays, 12 PM - 2 PM

11 year olds

Fridays, 5 PM - 7 PM

12 year olds

Saturdays, 12 PM - 2 PM

14 year olds

Saturdays, 12 PM - 2 PM

2015 - 2016 academic year starts on September 11 and ends on June 25. There are no classes on the following days: November 27 & 28, December 25 & 26, January 1, 2, 15, & 16, February 13 & 19, March 25 & 26, April 29 & 30, and May 27 & 28. For more information, please visit our calendar page.
