New Literature Discussion Seminars

05.15.2016

Children will meet to discuss short literary works in Russian that are read aloud by the adult facilitator during the session.  Through discussing characters, plot, themes and author's craft students will expand their vocabulary and strengthen Russian expressive language skills around sophisticated topics.  Children will share their ideas and opinions in partnerships, in group share,  and in debate teams.   Texts selections will include short stories, poems, essays, and excerpts from longer works.  Discussion groups will be led by Marina Cherner, co-founder of Pushkin Academy of Russian Heritage and an experienced educator. These seminars will be offered in age specific levels throughout the year and will be limited to 5 children per session.  Fluent conversational Russian is required.

Please register for the upcoming seminars (more dates/ages will be offered in September):
